Tapas Revolution

We were delighted to visit Windsor’s new tapas restaurant which has recently opened opposite the Castle.  This is the seventh of Spanish chef Omar Allibhoy’s tapas restaurants to open and is set to be a popular venue in Windsor as the only tapas bar in town.

tapas restaurant windsor, where to eat windsor, serviced apartments windsorFabulously located, the venue is small and narrow which immediately offers an intimate and charming setting.  The staff were fun and friendly although not thoroughly versed in the menu but its early days yet and we had lots of fun with our Romanian waitress when we discovered our GCSE Spanish skills were rather wasted on her!  The restaurant strives for an authentic Spanish menu which is both delicious and easy to navigate for the uninitiated.  For those that visit Spain regularly there’s lots to remind them of their last summer hols with all the classics together with a Spanish drinks list including gins, cocktails and wines served in traditional glasses and porrón.

The restaurant will be open all day for breakfast through to dinner and if you want to give it a go at home, TV chef Omar Allibhoy has written two cookbooks Tapas Revolution and Spanish Made Simple.  For the less adventurous home cooks, pop in to this lively new restaurant in Windsor and let the experts guide you through the mouth-watering menu and drinks list for a traditional taste of Espana.
